This was when my mentor taught me how to cut fabric.
Here, I'm cutting and matching colors on my bedroom floor, which was the only place that I could spread my project out without my younger siblings messing with it.
Here I am sewing pieces together.
In these pictures, I'm starching and pressing fabric. Spraying fabric with Best Press (the bottle of purple liquid) before pressing makes it stiffer and easier to work with.
In this picture, I'm squaring up fabric after it was sewed. Every piece had to be a certain size. I had to trim off the excess of each before sewing the next step.
In these pictures, I'm cutting and lining up the pieces to be sewed onto the edges of the quilt top.
This is the machine quilter that was used to quilt my project. It's a lot bigger than I expected, but it was a really interesting and valuable experience.
These pictures are from the binding step in my process.
This step is mostly hand-sewing, so it was very time consuming.
This picture is of me writing a thank you note to my mentor.
This is a picture of me with my finished project.
