Riparian Habitat Assessment

Today was my first day at the stream. It's surrounded by woods but at it's deepest, the width of the stream provides a clearing in the trees for sunlight to shine down. The stream water is cold, moving at every point, and clear. First I take my sample of water for        E. Coli and mix the contents into the designated bags after diluting. After that I test the PH, and then temperature and conductivity. I take some time walking up stream to take pictures and look at minnows and crayfish.
