ALLIED HEALTH Occupations

Class overview

The Allied Health course is designed to teach basic medical skills, techniques and terminology.  The Medical Skills Lab is where you will be introduced to these items, learn and practice them, and be evaluated.  Mannequins, models and other equipment provide a non-threatening, hands-on learning environment. Audio visual and manual instruction will enhance and reinforce your competency; it will be your responsibility to practice and study on your own time to become proficient.

About me

Welcome to the Allied Health Program! I am Ms. Cabrera, a Registered Nurse and experienced clinical nurse instructor. I have 10 years of teaching experience working with groups of LPN ( Licensed Practical Nurse) students; bringing them to clinical settings, teaching health care classes and simulation labs.

I am very excited about the upcoming school year and the opportunity to share my medical knowledge and skills with you, to help you grow and improve. We will work together to build a positive learning environment where you can learn in a fun and interactive way throughout the school year.

I look forward to teaching and learning with you this year!

Ms. Jilys Cabrera, BSN-RN
