Inform the Mass. Digital Equity Plan

The Massachusetts Digital Equity Plan needs local input. Please share your voice

The Massachusetts Broadband Institute (MBI) is developing a State Digital Equity Plan (SDEP). This plan will establish the framework for how digital equity funding and programs are deployed in Massachusetts for the coming 5 years. Think of it like the census where every person needs to be counted so that federal funding is allocated accurately to address community needs. The same is true for digital equity; the state digital equity plan will identify the digital equity needs and then signficant funding will be distributed to align with needs using local partners to address them.

Western Mass has been a leader in digital equity and we need to participate fully in data gathering efforts to make sure our region is well represented. MBI has initiated several activities to gather data - a household survey and a digital equity asset inventory. See below for more information.
