List of Committees and Descriptions
Book Fair (one week each in Fall and Spring)
Committee Chairs: Katie Burke
*Decorate according to the Scholastic theme for that year; prepare flyers to hand out to the entire school; make raffle boxes, teacher wish list board; set-up and break-down; organize volunteers, family night, bake sale.
BYOP Trunk or Treat
Committee Chairs: Ally Blumenthal
*Plan, organize and implement the Allenwood Trunk or Treat. This includes planning at least 8 trunks, donations of candy and allergy friendly items, getting and organizing volunteers, bake sale items, hayride, DJ, and gifts for the top number of trunks.
Class Parent Liaison:
Chairperson: Deedre Mortenson
*Communicating information about school happenings and events to class parents for them to pass along to classes.
Color Run: (one day in the fall during the week with a rain date)
Committee chairs: Nicole Inkrote and Deedre Mortenson
*Organize and plan for a fall event. Planning for items (white t-shirts and sunglasses) that are given with registration and securing any additional materials (water and/or wipes). Ordering of color for the run and organizing volunteers for event.
Fifth Grade Committee (meets throughout the school year)

*Organize 5th grade events such as: 5th grade trip, 5th grade picnic, Farewells Notes, T-shirts, and Lawn Signs.
Fundraising (throughout the school year)
Committee Chairs: Erica Sprague
*Spearhead fundraising ideas above and beyond existing programs, gather fundraising suggestions from other PTG members and decide whether or not to move forward with a function; take ideas, develop them, and execute them.
Holiday Gift Shop (3-4 day event in late Nov/early Dec, planning starts in Sept)

*Organize, set up, and break down the shop. Manage volunteers, work during the gift shop. Contact the vendor and order gifts before and during the shop.
Staff Appreciation Group (multiple events throughout the School year)
Committee Chairs: Tara Shah and Erica Sprague
*Responsible for organizing and setting up appreciation events for staff including welcome back breakfast and staff appreciation lunch.
Dragon's Den School Store (at least 2 times a year)

*Order merchandise, arrange volunteers, set up and clean up the store at school during recess
Read A Thon (2-3 weeks around Read Across America week)
Committee Chairs: Lauren Sewald
*Organizing and planning through website, making flyer with sign up for read a thon. Planning for prizes to top readers.
Spirit Wear (Preplanning in August / Sales runs in Sept and spring)
Committee Chairs: Lauren Sewald and Jacqueline Ervin
*Contact vendor at the end of July, have items chosen and a flyer ready to go by the end of August, if possible, for K Orientation or at least by 1st day of school.
Yearbook (meet several times throughout the school year, take pictures at school functions)

*Develop, create, and handle all aspects of the Allenwood School yearbook. Coordinate with photographers to cover all Allenwood events.
Theater Club
Committee Chairs: Heather Campbell
*Organize with the music and art teachers, monitor the program, create materials (tickets, program, permission slips, etc.), organize volunteers for play practice and production, organize getting snacks and sales the night of the play.
Art Fair/Science Fair

*Organize with Principal date for Science Fair (to be attached to Art Fair). Collaborate with 4th -5th grade teachers to hand out science fair packet. Work with participants who sign up to get Tri Fold Board. Plan to have science experiments on night of.
Lost and Found
Committee Chair: Erica Sprague
*Organizes and maintains a central location for misplaced items, ensuring that lost clothing, books, and personal belongings are easily accessible to students and parents. The committee also implements periodic inventory checks and clearly labeled bins to help students quickly retrieve their lost items.
Stock the Faculty Room

*Organizes and stocks the faculty room with snacks and treats to get them through the day!
May Fair
Committee Chairs: Lauren Sewald
*Organize and implement the May Fair. This includes organizing various sub committees, such as games/prizes, food, volunteers, and arts/crafts. It includes picking the date and working to secure vendors for rides for the day.
Wishlist
Committee Chair: PTG Board, Mr. S, Office Staff, Custodial Staff
*Brainstorming, prioritizing, and implementing purchases for school based on needs/wants.
Community Impact Committee

*Organize and facilitate community service events to enhance and support the local community.
