I was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, which is in the Northeastern part of Pennsylvania. It is the birth to anthracite coal mine strikes and hard work. I am the first generation of my family to graduate from a higher learning institution but fell in love with the blue collar aspects of theatre. Telling our stories is what fuels my soul. My heart lies in tech, but I have also found myslef on the stage. I see what we do, to make pretend for a living, as an amazing privilege. Telling our stories and uplifting the community around us is the best part of the craft.
I have worked in the theatre world of Wilkes-Barre and beyond for the past 10 years, since I found my passion in this craft. I find fullflment in donating time to the arts projects in the community I find myself in. I have held the positon of Head Carpenter at Maples Repertory Theatre in Macon, Missouri. I returned to Maples Repertory to hold the postion of Sound Designer/Engineer. I held the postion of Resident Technical Director at Riverside Center For the Perfroming Arts in Fredericksburg, Virginia. In November of 2020, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, I returned to the Wyoming Valley and began the Apprenticeship with Local 44 Sheetmetal Workers Union. I find, in times of change and adjustment that we must refocus to find skills and training that reinforces our own craft as artist while also paying the bills. Beginning in the Fall Semester of 2022, I began teaching at King's College in the Theatre Department as well as hone my skills as a set designer and sound engineer/designer.
I have found a deep fullfiment from the educational involvement in the arts and it has brought me a sense of rejuvintion unlike any project I have undertaken. Guiding young artists through failures and struggle has been unlike anything I have experienced. I must say, helping students of this craft succeed far outways all ambitoin of chasing the spotlight. This is the work I belong in and this is the work I will continue to do. We artists need to provide the meaningful spaces for the work to continue.
My ultimate career goal is to open up a theatrical space where we can provide safety and security in people being their authentic self and embrace the artistic qualities of human nature. In the words of my favorite poet "some require more light than others so make extra."
