My name is Allan Hoefsloot and I am running for Division 6 Councillor for Parkland County. As an active member of our farming and industrial community I am passionate about ensuring the long term economic and environmental viability for future generations.

My wife and I moved here twenty years ago and have proudly raised our family in Tomahawk. We have a farm and raise red angus beef cattle along with growing forage crops on several quarters.

The rural way of life is important to me as a father, a grandfather and an active community member.

In addition to farming I also work in the oil and gas industry. I bring many years of experience in road construction, gravel business, city water and sewer systems and subdivision developments.

I am aware of the nature of the position and with my previous council experience feel that I can make a positive impact if elected.

My top priorities if elected:

• Creation and retention of jobs in our community

• Agriculture sustainability and water management

• Respect for the environment

• Culturally sensitive approaches to current issues
