I was diagnosed in 2024 with Liver Disease and i didn't think it was relevant to jot down since its not a new issue until this morning when I woke up with yellow spots on my body
According to google my autoimmune disease and my liver disease are at war making me even more sick
I have more symptoms but that is where I get uncomfortable sharing those details
Background
Since I was rejected for health insurance even by the state I have to pay all of these out of pocket and if surgery is required I will be out of work quite a bit for appointments as well as recovery. In 2023 I had 3 surgeries and was out of work the whole year into 2024 due to constant appointments and surgeries. So if you are able to help so I can pursue the medical care I need and have a safe place to recover, even $1 helps towards all of this. Links to paypal and cashapp can be found on the homepage
I want to explain why my fundraising goal is $70,000. This is not a luxury goal. In fact, $70,000 would not be enough to cover all of my basic living expenses and medical care.
When I calculated what it would take to cover my basic necessities and medical care while continuing to work DoorDash, I came to approximately $99,000 without accounting for surgeries.
If my medical issues require the surgeries I'm currently anticipating, and I need an extended recovery period of up to 33 weeks, my estimated total could reach approximately $187,000.
These numbers are based on basic necessities housing, bills, groceries, utilities, hygiene, medical care, and surgeries. This isn't a luxury budget. It doesn't include vacations, entertainment, fun money, or a large emergency fund.
I also don't know yet exactly how many tests, procedures, or surgeries I'll need. That's part of why the final cost is difficult to predict.
So why am I asking for $70,000?
Because $70,000 is my minimum goal. I'm asking for help getting to a stable place where I can pursue the medical care I need, have a safe place to recover, and continue working when my health allows me to.
I don't expect one person to cover everything. Even $1 helps. Every contribution gets me closer to having the stability I need to focus on my health instead of constantly worrying about whether I can afford the next bill, appointment, test, or procedure.
How I Calculated My Goal
I researched typical out-of-pocket costs for medical care without insurance and used the lowest costs I could reasonably find when estimating my potential medical expenses.
I then added those estimates to my basic living expenses, including housing, furniture, rent, utilities, food, and a few monthly bills.
I intentionally did not include fuel and several other expenses because I am trying to keep this goal reasonable. I still plan to work when my health allows me and contribute toward those expenses myself.
These are estimates, not guaranteed costs. I don't yet know exactly how many tests, procedures, or surgeries I may need, so the actual amount could be different.
Note: There are additional symptoms and medical issues that I am not comfortable discussing with anyone except my doctor. The symptoms listed here are only a portion of what I am dealing with.
