A grifter and his young friend look to make a quick buck for a night on the town; a former cabaret dancer has come up with an inventive way to get around the Prohibition; a jitney bus driver tries to overcome his dubious reputation to pick up a few customers. All of the proceedings are viewed through the eyes of a street vender who gets caught up in the mayhem.
All the Boys Love Mary requires a single set and a variety of players. Five men and five women serve as principal players as well as men's and women's choruses of flexible size. The musical provides ample opportunities for dance numbers. It is designed to serve as a suitable musical production for high schools, colleges and community theatres. This Prohibition era musical comedy employs popular songs from the era, now in the public domain, with a new score written by Kyle Berry. The libretto was written by playwright, Steve Cleberg, who penned the Radio Suspense Theatre series as well as the musical, Tin Pan Alley Tavern.
