1. Introduction
We are committed to respecting your privacy and ensuring transparency regarding the data our application may access. This policy sets forth the types of information we collect, the purposes of processing, and the control you have over your data.
2. Data Categories We May Access
To enable core functionality and improve user experience, the App may interact with the following types of information:
- Device and Network Details: Includes device model, OS version, IP address, language settings, and mobile carrier.
- Technical Identifiers: Such as unique device IDs, advertising identifiers, and browser characteristics.
- Usage Metadata: Interaction logs, click patterns, crash reports, time zone, and session diagnostics.
- App-Specific Information: Application version, SDK identifiers, and performance data.
- Voluntarily Provided Contact Info: Only when you email us directly (e.g., name, email address, message content)
Note: We do not collect photos, videos, or personal media files unless explicitly provided by the user through the recovery process.
3. Permissions and Access Requirements
To provide its core functionalities, the App requires access to specific system permissions. These permissions are requested during installation or while using relevant features and are used solely for their declared operational purposes:
MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
- Purpose: Enables the App to scan, access, and recover deleted files across the device’s entire external storage.
- Scope: Required on Android 11 and above where full file system access is restricted.
- Note: The App does not upload, share, or store any personal files externally.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
- Purpose: Allows the App to read files and directories from external storage to identify recoverable content.
- Scope: Used on Android versions below 11 where granular file access is permitted.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
- Purpose: Grants the App permission to save recovered files to external storage.
- Scope: Applicable to Android 10 and earlier.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
- Purpose: Detects the network status (Wi-Fi or mobile data) to control features that depend on internet access.
- Scope: Helps manage ad loading and support-related feedback availability.
INTERNET
- Purpose: Required to connect to the internet for displaying ads, submitting crash logs, fetching SDK updates, and enabling communication features.
- Scope: Used only for interactions with verified third-party services.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS
- Purpose: Allows the App to send user-facing notifications such as recovery completion alerts and app tips.
- Scope: Required from Android 13 onward and used only with user consent.
BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE
- Purpose: Enables the App to bind as a Notification Listener to receive and monitor system notifications.
- Scope: Used for optional utility features that react to specific notifications (e.g., informing users of completed downloads or relevant actions).
- Note: This permission is not used to read or collect personal messages or app content.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED
- Purpose: Allows the App to receive system boot completion events.
- Scope: Enables the App to auto-initialize background services (like preparing for scanning or restoring state) after a device restart.
- Note: No unnecessary background tasks are initiated without user interaction.
Important Notice: These permissions are requested strictly to enable core functionalities (file recovery and user interaction). No personal media or system content is accessed, processed, or transmitted beyond the device unless explicitly initiated by the user. Users may revoke any granted permissions at any time via their device settings.
4. Purpose of Information Processing
We process information in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents.
Our lawful bases for data processing include:
- User Consent: When you grant permissions or contact support.
- Legitimate Interests: To maintain and improve the App’s core functionality, ensure security, and deliver non-personalized advertising.
- Legal Obligation: To comply with applicable legal or regulatory requirements.
Where consent is the legal basis, you may withdraw it at any time via your device settings or by contacting us.
5. Data Storage and Retention
We do not retain any personal data on external servers. Any temporary data (such as logs or analytics) is stored only as long as necessary for the intended technical purpose and may be handled by authorized third-party services.
