Biography

Duncan Tonatiuh (toh-nah-tee-YOU) was born in Mexico City and raised in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. His father is American of Scottish descent, his mother is Mexican. Duncan attended high school and College in the United States where he graduated from Parsons School of Design and Eugene Lang College in New York City. His artwork is inspired by Pre-Columbian art, particularly that of the Aztec, Maya, and Mixtec codices. Currently Duncan resides in Mexico but he constantly travels to the United States for work.
