Where are lessons held? As a traveling piano teacher, I offer the convenience of teaching in the homes of my students. I live near the Houston Medical Center and am willing to travel within a 20-minute radius.
How long are lessons? I offer weekly 30, 45, and 60-minute lessons. There are 15 weeks that I am available to teach each semester (winter semester goes from January to April, summer semester goes from May to August, and fall semester goes from September to December). I will charge you for 13 weeks, giving you two weeks of leeway for travel, sickness, etc. This means that if you attend lessons every week in a semester, you will get two free lessons. However, if you miss more than two lessons, you will end up paying extra.
What is the lesson make-up policy? If there are circumstances that prevent you from making your usual lesson time, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance so I can find another time for you that week. (Please note that, depending on the week, I may not have another available time slot.) If you give me less than 24 hours’ notice, your lesson will be canceled for that week without the possibility of rescheduling.
If unexpected circumstances arise on my end and I need to cancel a lesson, I will let you know at least 24 hours in advance and will refund you for that lesson.
What does tuition cover?
Lesson time
Travel time and gas
Preparation time
Materials used during lessons (worksheets, props, games, etc.)
*Scores and method books must be purchased separately.
What are my rates?
30-minute lessons: $520 per semester ($40 x 13 weeks)
45-minute lessons: $780 per semester ($60 x 13 weeks)
60-minute lessons: $1040 per semester ($80 x 13 weeks)
How and when are payments made? Payments can be made via Venmo, Zelle, or check in one of two ways:
The entire sum is paid by the first lesson of the semester.
Payments are made in monthly installments due by the first lesson of each month.
How much are students expected to practice? I expect students to practice 6 days a week. The amount of time per day will be determined by the level and goals of each individual student.
