I am a PhD candidate in Data Science and Computation at Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, Italy. I began my doctoral studies in November 2022, with a PhD project focused on machine learning methods in digital health.
My doctoral research is conducted within the Life Science Computational (LISCOMP) Laboratory, a multidisciplinary research environment formed through the collaboration between the MIDA (Methods for Image and Data Analysis) group and the IRCCS San Martino Hospital, Genova. Since September 2023, I am based at IRCCS San Martino Hospital and work under the supervision of Ing. Nicola Rosso and Dr. Sara Garbarino.
From July 2025 to January 2026, I was a visiting researcher at the LILI Lab, University of Sussex, UK. During this period, my research focused on artificial intelligence and graph learning methods for neurodegenerative diseases, leveraging structured clinical and healthcare data to model disease mechanisms and disease progression. Prior to starting my PhD, I served as a lecturer in computer science at the University of Education, Lahore, Pakistan, where I was involved in teaching and academic activities.
My research focuses on graph learning and AI methods for neurodegenerative disease modelling, with an emphasis on Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) and multimodal data integration for healthcare and clinical applications.
