The original antique was the upper half of a pine coloured hutch. Firstly, I cleaned it, sanded, and filled the holes. Second, I chalk painted it with a double-coat of chalk paint on the interior and exterior. I removed the old, lower handles and installed new hardware (floral pottery printed handles) to the top of the hutch to create a cabinet. I wanted the interior to be a lighter colour to add depth to the piece which allowed the sun to shine through and awaken the shelves. The arches on the glass inspired the name: Conservatory Garden Cabinet - Ivy Green.

This table was free at the bottom of someone's driveway. It had scrapes, nicks, knots, and bangs throughout - and I could tell it had a story. I chose charcoal black because I felt it matched it's sharp edges and jagged corners. I used nails for the circular inlets to add some character. I added two large chairs and called it "The Lake House Table". I imagined it in someones cottage or in a bright window.

✎ I spotted this gem at a thrift shop tucked behind a table. The original dresser looked a little tired but I could see it's great potential. I thought to myself "how can I bring this piece back to life"? I looked at my paint collection. Grey was to simple. Yellow, didn't match the style of the dresser. I eventually chose blue because it is vibrant and cheerful. I left the decorative part of the dresser natural because I liked the detail - it looked elegant and striking. Finally, I lined the drawers with floral paper which helped it feel delicate.

It has been a rainy day. Rain on snow makes for a very wet walk-way. While it rains, I will be working on the a l i ' s a t t i c spring collection which includes some lovely pastel colours and floral accents. I think you will really like what I have coming... Keep an eye out!

This dresser was a lucky find at a garage sale in my hometown. The previous owner mentioned that it used to be her favourite entry piece. After sanding, protecting, and painting, this piece quickly became mine too!
