I am interested in theoretical condensed matter physics and statistical physics, particularly correlated systems. Correlations in many- body systems arising from interactions between electrons and electrons, electrons and phonons, and so on, can give rise to a variety of broken symmetry phases such as magnetism, superconductivity, and other ordered states. We investigate the physics of such systems focusing especially on unconventional and high TC superconductors, observed for example in the Fe-pnictides, cuprates, and heavy fermion compounds, as well as trying to understand the close link between magnetism and superconductivity. We also investigate the physics of topological insulators and superconductors, which are distinguished from normal insulators by conducting edge states but are insulating in the bulk. We are particularly interested in those states protected by time-reversal symmetry, which can be detected via various spectroscopic techniques.
