Welcome! My name is Ali Palida, I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh, Center for Governance and Markets (CGM). Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the MIT Sloan School of Management. I received my PhD in Economics from MIT in 2020.

My research interests lie in applied microeconomics, particularly in understanding the variety of ways in which organizations and communities govern themselves. Current questions I am interested in are how communities can leverage developing technologies to improve societal objectives and how deep differences are managed in highly polarized societies.  I am also interested in financial economics and monetary policy, and previously served as a Research Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
