Ali Image Downloader is a Chrome extension that helps users download product, variant, review images, and product videos from AliExpress.
1. Data processed by the extension
The extension may process the following information:
- The URL and title of the webpage currently being viewed.
- Referrer URL, language, timezone, and visible page-view duration.
- An automatically generated random visitor identifier stored locally in the browser.
- Media URLs selected by the user for download.
The extension does not intentionally collect names, email addresses, passwords, payment details, saved passwords, browsing history, or the contents of unrelated pages.
2. Page-view analytics
When tracking is enabled, page-view events may be sent to:

These events are used to understand extension usage, page views, session duration, and extension lifecycle health. The random visitor identifier is generated locally and is not directly tied to the user's name or account.
The extension stores unsent analytics events locally and retries them when the browser is available. Users may disable tracking through the extension's tracking setting when that setting is provided by the installed build. When tracking is disabled, queued analytics events are discarded and no new analytics events are sent.
3. Affiliate links
When the extension rewrites an AliExpress link, it sends the user through AliExpress's official affiliate deep-link endpoint using the extension's affiliate short key. AliExpress may create its own click identifiers and cookies according to AliExpress's privacy policy and terms. The extension does not fabricate AliExpress click identifiers.
Affiliate link rewriting is used only for links handled by the extension. The extension does not silently open pages, refresh pages, or create background affiliate clicks.
4. Downloads and media
Images selected by the user are converted to PNG locally in the extension service worker and saved through Chrome's Downloads API. Product videos selected by the user are downloaded through Chrome. Downloaded media is not uploaded to our server by this extension.
5. Sharing and sale of data
We do not sell personal information. We do not share collected information with advertisers or data brokers. Analytics data is sent only to the endpoint described in this policy for extension measurement and reliability purposes.
6. Third-party services
AliExpress and its CDN may process requests made to their websites and media servers. AliExpress affiliate redirects are governed by AliExpress's own privacy policy and terms. Users should review those policies separately.
7. Data retention and deletion
Analytics events are queued locally only until they are delivered or discarded. The local visitor identifier and tracker settings can be removed by clearing the extension's storage or uninstalling the extension. Downloaded files remain in the user's Chrome Downloads folder until the user deletes them.
8. Security
The extension uses Chrome extension APIs and HTTPS endpoints for its supported network communication. No system password or payment information is requested by the extension.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy when the extension's data practices change. The effective date at the top will be updated when changes are made.
