Dr. Nasir Ali received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2015, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China, in 2018 and 2023, respectively. From May to December 2022, he was a Research Intern at the Power Electronics and Industrial Control Research Group (GRÉPCI), École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS), Montreal, Canada. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the High-Power Electronics Laboratory (HiPEL) in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at McMaster University, where he leads a multi-year project funded by NSERC and Mitacs in collaboration with Enedym Inc.
Dr. Ali has authored or co-authored 25 IEEE journal and conference papers and holds five issued or pending U.S. patents. His research focuses on high-performance power conversion systems for electrified transportation and renewable energy applications. He is a recipient of the 2022 Author of the Year Award from the IET Electric Power Applications journal.
