Mrs. Jamie Barker - Sparta School District Align Program Administrator
Mrs. Jamie Barker has served as a school administrator for the past seven years. She previously held the role of Vice Principal at Sparta High School and now serves as the Director of Student Support Services, overseeing counseling services across the district. She is deeply committed to enhancing student mental health and well-being, with a particular focus on increasing access to therapeutic supports and helping students develop effective coping skills through healthy practices.
Mrs. Barker has been an active member of the district’s Behavioral Threat Assessment teams and has collaborated extensively on behavioral threat assessment initiatives, partnering and attending trainings with the New Jersey Department of Education, FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and the United States Secret Service.
She lives in Sparta with her family and is a proud parent of two daughters.

Dr. Sue Lorentz, SHS Clinician
Dr. Susan Ann Lorentz, PhD is a Licensed Psychologist and School Psychologist for the Sparta Township School District. Since joining the District in 2005, Dr. Lorentz has served as a case manager in several of the district’s schools and has enjoyed working with all ages. For the past nine years she has been the primary clinician for West Mountain Academy, an emotionally and behaviorally supportive program within Sparta High School. Dr. Lorentz is a licensed clinician with a extensive background working with both students and their families. She has expertise in the areas of adolescent individual / group counseling, performing crisis risk assessment and psychological / learning evaluations. Dr. Lorentz and her family are proud Sparta residents and who are very involved within the Sparta community.
Mrs. Jodi Skiba-Fitzpatrick, SHS Clinician
Mrs. Jodi Skiba-Fitzpatrick is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who joined the Sparta High School Child Study Team in the summer of 2018. Mrs. Skiba-Fitzaptrick came to Sparta High School after working in two other school districts serving as a Case Manager and School Social Worker for children ranging in ages three through 21. Mrs. Skiba-Fitzaptrick graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2004 and a Master’s degree in Social Work in 2006. She later obtained her clinical license and is currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker supervising other social workers and graduate level students. She is passionate about educating the whole child and using student centered approaches. Mrs. Skiba-Fitzaptrick is married with two children and two dogs, who are proud residents of Sparta.
Vikki Szabo, SHS Student Assistance Counselor
Mrs. Szabo started at Sparta High School in January 2024. She previously held the Student Assistance Role in the Dover and Butler School districts. She has served in the role of Anti Bullying Specialist, Anti Bullying Coordinator, 504 Coordinator, and RTI Coordinator. She holds a Bachelor's in Psychology from Marist College and a Master's in Clinical Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She has nearly 20 years of clinical mental health and substance abuse counseling experience and is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor and Certified School Supervisor. She has worked in outpatient, hospital, in home and private practice settings. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her two daughters..
SPARTA MIDDLE SCHOOL CARE TEAM
Mrs. Gallego is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University. Mrs. Gallego has served families in the Sussex and Morris county areas providing in-home family stabilization and crisis intervention. She has worked as a clinician serving individuals with intellectual and behavioral disabilities, facilitating group work in the community, and in home therapeutic services. Her areas of focus have been working with at-risk adolescents, clients with behavioral/ intellectual disabilities and substance use/abuse issues; and providing anger management and positive parenting skills training to help parents address their children’s needs.
Ms. Colleen Geddis is a Licensed Social Worker and School Social Worker for the Sparta Township School District. Since joining the District in 2016, Ms. Geddis has served as a Case Manager at both the Middle School and Helen Morgan School. Prior to joining the District Ms. Geddis worked in Mt. Olive School District, for fourteen years, as a Case Manager and School Social Worker. Ms. Geddis holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Sociology from University of North Carolina, Asheville, and a Master’s of Social Work degree from University of South Carolina. She has a comprehensive background in the area of adolescent individual and group counseling, performing crisis risk assessments, and animal assisted therapy.
Ms. Miranda Angelucci, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and School Social Worker who provides student support within Sparta High School’s West Mountain Academy Program. Miranda came to Sparta after working at Family Intervention Services as their Pre and Post Adoption Clinician, working in-home with Morris and Sussex County families. Miranda graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work at SUNY Fredonia in 2017 and a Masters degree of Social Work at Rutgers University in 2018. Miranda works with the students at Sparta Middle School through the Align Wellness Center and enjoys being a part of such an amazing program.

Katy Szatkiewicz, HMS / MAS Align Clinician
Mrs. Szatkiewicz is a Nationally Board Certified School Counselor (NBCSC) and a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC). She holds a BA in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Arcadia University PA. She has taught 3rd through 5th grade in diverse settings from rural to urban districts in Sussex, Morris and Bergen County. She received her MA in Professional Counseling from William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ in 2018 and is currently the school counselor at Sparta High School. Mrs. Szatkiewicz also sees clients in a private practice and through PerformCare in Morris and Sussex County serving at the In Home Clinician and Parent Coach. Katy services as Align's Elementary Aged (PreK-5) Parent Consult and Coach and Mohawk's After School Group Clinician.
Mrs. Franconere is a NY Licensed Clinical Social Worker and NJ Licensed Social Worker. She has worked as the school social worker at Alpine Elementary and Mohawk Avenue School for the past 13 years. Prior to moving to the Sparta district, Mrs. Franconere was the director of a special education preschool program in New York City. Mrs. Franconere offers experience in social skill instruction and parent training, particularly with elementary level students on the Autism Spectrum. She holds a BA degree in Psychology from SUNY New Paltz and a MA in Social Work from SUNY Albany School of Social Welfare.
