The CEFR Descriptors (2020) are a list of over 1800 actions, strategies, and competences detailing what each proficiency level of the CEFR requires. These phrases are incredibly detailed and can support course development within and between grade levels throughout the public education system.
This large spreadsheet closely aligns with the strands in the Ontario curriculum, but these connections have not yet been made to support educators and education administrators in using these descriptors to create more appropriate, action-oriented, and authentic learning opportunities for students in French as a second Language courses.
My hope is that the web organizers below will help you to understand how the descriptors relate to our curriculum. Then, you can use the dropdown menus in the report tool to generate rubrics (e.g. reading comprehension from A1+ - A2+) or actions required for a specific course (e.g. everything for A2+ for a FEF1DI course) to support your resource and course design or redesign.
Use the web diagrams in the linked slideshow to find the mode of communication and activity, strategy, or competence that will best match the curriculum strand that you are planning for.
NOTE: the competences (linguistic competence, sociolinguistic competence, pragmatic competence) have descriptors within that are relevant to all strands.
