2. Development of the second generation client conformance testing system
based on IEC 61850 Edition2.0 - P/L 이남호
Period : November 2016- September 2017
This program is suitable for substation automation engineers who work with IEC61850 devices. It is designed to provide access to the IEDs (Intelligent Electronic Devices) over MMS and GOOSE protocol, allowing the user to perform numerous functions on them.
The project is devided into two (2) parts;
a. IEC 61850 Edition2.0 based 2G Client Conformance Testing System
Which involves the development of the Client conformance tool according to IEC61850 Part 10.
b. IEC 61850 Edition2.0 based 2G Virtual Server
This involves the development of a virtual IED system capable of simulating a simple IED device and functionality.
3. Development of the communication conformance testing system for precision analysis on IEC 61850 based IED - P/L 장병태
Period: November 2016- September 2017
This project develops a software for the simplification of the Substation configuration language verification into order to achieve multi-vendor interoperability via data model consistency
The project is divided into two aspects;
a. Conformance Testing System for Communication Specification
Which involves the development of the server conformance tool according to IEC61850 Part 10.
b. Conformance Testing System for Profile with SCL of a IEC 61850 based IED
Which involves the development of the SCL validation Tool for both syntactic and semantic validation of the SCL engineering files.
4. A Study on Full Dimension Large Scale MIMO for Next Generation Wireless Networks
Period: March 2014-February 2016
User requirements are growing faster than ever and the limitations of the current mobile communication systems have forced researchers to come up with more advanced and efficient technologies. FD-MIMO employs 2-dimensional (2D) active antenna at the transmitter along with advanced digital processing to improve capacity for next generation wireless networks and services. This technology can achieve multi user MIMO (MU-MIMO) of high magnitude via the provision of simultaneous data transmission to large number of equipment (UE’s) in the network. It is quite clear that shifting from the conventional MIMO to FD-MIMO would require a change in base station designs, but the question remains; which designs provide the optimal performance. For service providers, this 2-D structure of FD-MIMO creates problems due to space constraints and for the network users the question is how well this technique provide higher data throughput and lower latency. This is a study on the implementation of FD-MIMO and how channel factors including elevation angular spread affect the throughput. By means of simulations, evaluations are performed to aid the understanding of antenna which could provide optimal performance under different channel conditions.
5. WIMAX Performance Analysis Using MatLab
Period: August 2012 - May 2013
In wireless communication, the concept of parallel communication of symbols is applied to achieve high data rates and better transmission quality. However an increased data rate comes with increased frequency selective fading and eventually more errors at the receivers end. Mitigation techniques have to be employed to combat the ISI as a result of the fading channel. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is one of such techniques and is a promising solution for achieving data rates in both fixed and mobile environment. The idea in OFDM is to split the allocated transmission bandwidth into a number of orthogonal subcarriers that transmits the symbols in parallel. In our project, performance analysis of modulation schemes such as BPSK, QPSK, 16-QAM and 64-QAM was done on a simulated WiMAX OFDM system for BER, SNR and power spectral density performance. Coding improves BER performance and hence few difference coding schemes were examined and comparisons made. BER of system is analysed over Additive White Gaussian Noise Channel and various fading multipath environments.
