Alicia Reynolds

I am a Japanese American artist based in Orlando, Florida. I am currently enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts, Emerging Media and Studio Art program at the University of Central Florida, and I am also a graduate teaching assistant. 

My work involves the process of creating a physical manifestation of my lived experiences as a third culture kid growing up in the South. Being Japanese American and half white and even raised catholic has given me a unique perspective from which I analyze and critique orientalism and its implications on my life and Western culture in general. Through my work I am not only sharing my own experiences but connecting to a larger intergenerational collection of stories.
