Electricity Economics, Energy Transition and Climate Change

Welcome to my website.

I am a PhD student in energy economics, specialising mainly in the electricity market. I am supervised by David Benatia and Peter Tankov. This thesis is financed by an ANR research grant, acquired in the framework of the EcoREES project. I am also a member of the FiME laboratory.

I am deeply passionate about combating global warming, with a focus on energy as a fundamental component. Specifically, electricity poses two significant challenges:

In some countries, transitioning to renewable energies, despite their intermittency, could be a solution. However, the existing economic framework isn't robust enough to handle this shift, leading to issues like negative pricing, 'missing money,' and renewables cannibalizing investments. The recent energy crisis highlights the impact of unforeseen events, emphasizing the urgency to accelerate renewable investments.

I'm mainly interested in the role of uncertainty about the future for the energy transition, and how public policy can better take these aspects into account. For these purposes, I mainly use tools from microeconomics (industrial economics), but also several probabilistic mathematical tools such as stochastic calculus. I occasionally use empirical methods to calibrate my models and propose simulations.
