The Spring Submissions Deadline is April 20th
Before you submit your writing, see if it matches the following rules so that it can be edited and published quickly and easily:
If you are writing a story, it should be in Narrative Form and fictional. It can be realistic, historical, sci-fi, rom-com, etc. If you want some extra help, take a personal narrative writing piece from class, change the names, and maybe add some fictional components.
Keep it PG. No cursing, no inappropriate language, no hateful words. This is a middle school magazine, so make sure this is something you want to be read by your teachers or parents. If you wouldn't show it to them, you probably should submit it elsewhere.
Try to keep it on the shorter side. We usually receive around 1000-1500 words. We won't limit you and IF needed we can do installments of your story, but be reasonable and use your best judgment. Please don't make us edit 500 pages! We have homework too!
Try to avoid using the names of people you know at the school unless they say it is okay. We have 1600 kids, so you may end up using someone's name, but make sure your story won't make anyone uncomfortable.
While at the moment this is being published online, we may not be able to use every font, color, or size you pick. Try to use Bolding, Italics, Underlining, or CAPITALIZATION to make or emphasize points.
