Ali Azam was born and raised in Pabna, Bangladesh. He went to Tarabaria Abu Bakar Siddique Alim Madrasha for primary education and Sujanagar Pilot High School for secondary education. He completed higher secondary education at Nizam Uddin Azgar Ali College. He earned his Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETE) from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET).
After completing BSc in ETE from RUET, he joined Fair and Appropriate Technology (FAT) as a system engineer. He decided to leave FAT for higher education and started Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (SDSMT). He graduated from SDSMT in 2020 and joined GE Healthcare (subsidiary of American multinational conglomerate General Electric) as a Test Engineer.
