Welcome to the ALIA Students and New Graduates Job Help Site!
People sometimes ask us, "Can you help me with my resume?" or "How do I write key selection criteria?" If you have asked these questions, then this page is for you.
The site is a hub filled with job hunting resources. It is not an exhaustive list, but it will hopefully provide you with enough information to; support your job hunting with confidence. It will be updated, with new helpful resources, so feel free to provide feedback!
The information on this page does not necessarily reflect the views of ALIA or the ALIA Students and New Graduates Group. Please use these resources for information-gathering purposes to help you think about how best to promote yourself to potential employers.

Are you a student, new graduate or professional searching for a GLAMR job or resume writing advice?
Eligibility for a review from the service:
Current ALIA Member
Recent qualified library technicians/librarians
Current student in a library technician or library program in Australia.
(Professionals returning to the workforce after a hiatus are also welcome).
Please note: there is a limit of three reviews per year
*ALIA SNGG Resume Review Service is open when ALIA National is open. During holiday breaks no Resume Reviews will be accepted.
How to request a review:
Send an email to alia.sngg.rrs@gmail.com with the subject line ‘Resume review request’ and include the following information in the email:
Your resume attached as a Word document (.doc, .docx, or .rtf)
Your name and email address
Your ALIA Member number
A list of areas of the resume for resume feedback
If applying for a specific job, please include an active PDF link or file attachment for the job you are applying
What to expect:
Your selected reviewer will reply to you within two weeks with feedback on improving your resume based on their experience and expertise.
The resume review is confidential.
The Resume Review Service Coordinator and the selected reviewer will delete your files once the review is complete.
We will add your name and email address to a Google Spreadsheet accessible only to the service coordinators. Please let us know if you do not want your details kept on the Google Spreadsheet after the review.
