Ali Muqadas Jaffri a Ph.D. in Economics with a strong background in monetary economics, financial markets, financial economics, transportation economics and risk management. My research focuses on forecasting financial crises, portfolio optimization, and algorithmic trading, incorporating advanced quantitative methods such as stochastic processes and computational finance. I am also a CFA Charter holder with extensive experience in financial modeling, investment analysis, and risk assessment.
I am currently working as an Assistant Professor of Practice in Finance at the College of Business, North Dakota State University (NDSU). At NDSU, I teach courses that integrate finance, data analytics, and financial innovation:
Analysis of Fixed Income – Valuation, pricing, and risk management of bonds and structured products.
Data Analytics in Finance – Python-driven financial modeling, time series forecasting, and machine learning applications in investment analysis.
Advanced Bank Management – Risk management, capital adequacy, and regulatory frameworks shaping modern banking.
In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I serve as an advisor to the $3 million Bison Fund, NDSU’s student-managed investment fund, where I mentor students in portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment strategy development.
