Hello there! I am a highly motivated and dedicated civil engineer with a strong passion for creating innovative and sustainable solutions in the field of structural engineering. My journey has been guided by a philosophy of perseverance, learning, and a desire to contribute meaningfully to the world around me. I firmly believe that "success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do."
I am Abdulmajeed Ali Alhokabi, a graduate of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), where I completed my bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and earth resources. My undergraduate research focused on sustainability in construction by using industrial by-products like bottom ash to enhance the properties of non-load-bearing fly ash bricks. This work was an early reflection of my commitment to addressing real-world challenges through sustainable engineering practices.
Continuing this journey, I earned my Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in Geotechnical and Infrastructure, also from UMP. My research explored the enhancement of soft clay properties using palm oil fuel ash (POFA) and gypsum, offering practical solutions for problematic soils in infrastructure projects. This work aligned with my vision of creating sustainable innovations for civil engineering challenges.
Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Structural Engineering with a focus on developing a novel damper for seismic energy dissipation. My project integrates sustainability by utilizing recycled rubber derived from tire waste to create a high-performance damper. By combining advanced material science with sustainable practices, my work aims to improve energy dissipation, durability, and structural safety while addressing the global issue of tire waste. This research holds the potential to make a significant impact on earthquake-resistant design while promoting environmentally friendly solutions.
Beyond research, I am passionate about collaborating with others to share knowledge, foster innovation, and tackle complex engineering challenges. My goal is to contribute to the advancement of structural engineering through groundbreaking research that blends sustainability with technical excellence, paving the way for safer and more resilient communities.
