We are committed to supporting you as we all work towards our district goals.

District Learning Team (DLT) members will support sites with the progression of PLC work aligned to the following continuums:

Monitor instruction in alignment with SLT / CTM work and Effective Instruction Cycle.

District Academic Coaches

Coaching Practices DACs - Danielle Berry, Gina DelBrocco, Kristina Schneider, Nicole Tell, Matt Miller

(While Danielle is on leave, Esperanza will support APA, Matt-ATS, Kristina-BES and Gina - CLA)

Support includes, but not limited to:

Join Leadership Team meeting at least once per month

We welcome Nicole to the team! She comes to us from Westwood with the experience of a site coach. She will begin with supporting sites alongside the Ed Services team as well as support with Science, Coaching Academy and New Teachers. She will also collaborate with coaches to support assessment systems.

EL Specialized DACs - Kristi Jones & Sean Giguere

We welcome Kristi to the team! She comes from Valencia with site coach experience. Our EL DACs will support the planning and effective implementation of targeted and integrated instruction across content areas.

AVID coach: Gina DelBrocco

Gina will continue to support AVID implementation, including collaborating with AVID Site Team, AVID Coordinator and AVID Elective Teacher. She also provides support with AVID training.

New Teacher District Mentor - Cathy Field

Cathy will visit sites at least every other week. Support will be coordinated with the site's leadership team and focus on the needs of the new teacher(s). Brand new teachers (new to education) will attend a Collaborative Team Meeting and focus on strengthening classroom management and making instructional decisions within the effective lesson cycle to best meet the needs of all students.

Dates / Times will be shared by August 25. These CTMs will either be once each quarter for 4 hours OR after school once a month depending on sub coverage.. 2nd year teachers, which inlcude any teacher supported last year and new hires with less than 4 years of experience, will have continued support as well when Cathy is on campus.

COACHING ACADEMY

CHANGES FROM LAST YEAR

One session will be focused on Inquiry. Due to an overwhelming request for support in both Math and Science, we have added this topic to Coaching Academy.

The EL and Science of Reading sessions have been combined. This will bring greater alignment and focus.

Practicum week has been removed from the calendar. In 22-23 the intent of scheduling Practicum Week was to ensure DACs and Site Coaches had protected time to collaborate and support with Coaching Academy implementation.

Our efforts with Practicum Week strengthened the relationships with District and Site coaches. This year, 23-24, there will be ongoing, weekly, coaching conversations between District and Site Coaches.
