The short-term goal of this learning seminar is to prepare participants for understanding the Grothendieck Duality Theory as presented in Grothendieck Duality Made Simple, by A. Neeman, and the Grothendick Riemann-Roch Theorem as presented in Théorie des Intersections et Théoreme de Riemann-Roch (SGA 6), by Grothendieck et al.
In order to make the seminar accessible to graduate students we will proceed at a reasonable pace and presentations will be detailed. The seminar will also be appropriate for mathematicians who wish to learn about these topics and possibly use them in their future research.
We plan to begin the seminar with topics in category theory, homological algebra, commutative algebra, and algebraic geometry, needed to understand Grothendieck Riemann-Roch Theorem, or Grothendieck Duality Theory. For more details and to see topics for upcoming talks please see the seminar schedule.
The seminar meets on Saturdays from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM Tehran's time (12:30 PM to 2:30 PM U.S. Eastern Time) on Zoom. Most talks will be delivered in Farsi. If you are interested in participating in this seminar please let us know by completing the seminar registration form. We also have informal meetings on Wednesdays from 8:45 PM to 10:00 PM Tehran's time (12:15 PM to 1:30 PM U.S. Eastern Time) on Zoom, to allow further and more detailed discussions among participant's about the seminar presentations and to ask/answer questions.
The long-term goal of the seminar is to advance participants to the research level in certain areas of algebraic geometry. Possible topics and future directions of the seminar will be selected from the list below:
