Al Farabi
Concerto
"..... is that rare thing - a concert series that matters"
Al Farabi Concerto, established in 2005 by the late Antar Nakshbandi and Oliver Butterworth, is a series of concerts showcasing music by contemporary composers from the Middle East and North Africa.
The series has presented 56 premières by composers from Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Turkey, performed alongside works from their European and International counterparts, in major London concert halls, and venues across the UK and overseas.
A music library has been established, containing over 500 scores and recordings, most of which are available on request.
