Celebrating its 30th anniversary Alfa-M started in a garage in 1994. Alfa-M moved locations through the Twin Cities, specifically around Northeast Minneapolis until finally settling in Maple Plain, Minnesota where "the shop" is currently located. Alfa-M Woodproducts specializes in manufacturing commercial custom fixtures for bars, restaurants, and food service. Some highlight projects are the Guthrie theater, Allianz headquarters, St. Olaf's cafeteria, and so many more. Alfa-M is known for creatively maximizing the utility of fixtures to enhance the use of food service equipment. Known for handcrafted finishing, knowledgable staff, and personalized touch, Alfa-M values their customer relationships, weather they are new customers, or customers that have been trusting him for decades. Operating under the radar, Alfa-M focuses on business to business relationships supporting each customer. Alfa-M caters to the wants and needs of individual clients, meaning that no project is mass produced. Works are created to be functional yet still align with the designers visions.

Ihor "Alfie" Chowhan
Born to Ukrainian parents, Ihor grew up in New Brighton, Minnesota with hopes and dreams of becoming a firetruck. As life went on, he chose a different career path... Graduating from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a degree in industrial education. He now has over 40 years of experience woodworking and manufacturing custom woodproducts.
In 1991 Alfie married the "M" in Alfa-M. His wife Maryna is truly his sidekick, who does give him that kick in the side sometimes. Many dog children later, they had their one and only daughter Antonia who is Alfie’s #1 superfan and loves him more than anything.
When he is not working he loves spending time outside, being with friends and family, watching volleyball, going on adventures, traveling, playing with his pets, fishing, and of course... chocolate! Alfie is truly the jokester of the family, in any situation, he will have a pun or a joke ready in seconds.
His patience may reflect a laid back personality, but when it comes to his work, his attention to detail and high standard of work makes laid back is last thing that comes to mind.
