Yayoi Kusama

Kusama has always used art as an escape from her psychological problems. She often feared that she was going to melt into the void. Kusama was put into a wheelchair from years of doing artwork on her knees. Even in a wheelchair, she created beautiful work in confidence.

I chose this artist because even through many challenges, psychological and medical, she still pushes through. Kusama's unique rooms are what drew me to this artist more than the others. A lot of these rooms are visually appealing and gives me a sense of security.
