I am research director at Inria with interests in machine learning, computer vision and data management applied to biodiversity. I'm working at LIRMM, the computer science laboratory of the University of Montpellier, in an Inria research team called ZENITH.
I am the scientific and technical director of the Pl@ntNet citizen science platform which develops an AI-based plant identification application with more than 20 million end-users.
I am also the founder and general chair of the LifeCLEF virtual lab which organizes yearly machine learning challenges related to biodiversity since 2014.
I am regularly involved in the steering board of research projects at international scale (e.g. GUARDEN, Cos4Cloud) and national scale (e.g. Pl@ntAgroEco).
I have the pleasure of mentoring brilliant PhD students and post-docs, with whom we work hard to push back the boundaries of the state of the art at the crossroads of ecology and computer science.
