Healthcare

Alex Escaja-Heiss has been working in health education since the age of 15, when he was a Peer Educator at Planned Parenthood of Northern New England. Since then, Alex has developed an extensive portfolio of panels, workshops, presentations, and trainings, particularly around sexual health, healthy relationships, and LGBTQ wellness.

Alex is currently a Health Educator at the Mount Sinai Institute for Advanced Medicine, where he provides bilingual sexual health education, HIV and STI testing, and care coordination in an outpatient clinic and at community outreach events. In recognition of his excellence in patient care, he was named a LGB/TGNB Healthcare Champion by Mount Sinai.

Alex is also an accelerated second-degree nursing student at the Mount Sinai Phillips School of Nursing, expected to graduate in December 2026.
