I am Full Professor at the Research Center for Automatic Control of Nancy (CRAN-UMR 7039) in the Université de Lorraine (France). I lead the dependability and PHM&Maintenance research group (around 15 researchers).

I participate and co-ordinate national, European and International R&D projects. My primary research was in the field of fuzzy logic and information processing where I applied these techniques to subjective evaluation for car seat comfort assessment. My current research interests deal with Predictive Maintenance & PHM including health monitoring of hierarchical systems, system prognostic and decision making in a predictive maintenance framework. I use techniques dealing with Fuzzy Sets, such as Choquet integral, Fuzzy AHP. I advise 7 PhD students and published 13 international journal papers. I am currently Associate Editor of frontiers in Artificial Intelligence section Fuzzy Systems. In 2016, I was certified “Lean 6 sigma” Black Belt with project leaded in Baccarat crystal factory.

I was graduated from EFREI, a French public graduate school of engineering in computer science and electronics, in 1992 and received my Ph. D degree in Electrical Engineering from the Université de Lorraine in 1999.

My research aims to be grounded on real industrial issues, as such I am involved in projects including industrial partners such as RENAULT, Arcelor Mital, GRTGaz-RICE, Naval Group, EDF.
