No gum, mints, or snacks in class, please. We don't want any choking!
Try to help your child use the restroom before class starts. If a ballerina needs to use the restroom, I will send her to the lobby. Parents will need to be available to assist child in the restroom and make sure she gets back to class.
Parents, friends, and family are asked to remain in the lobby during class. This policy ensures minimum distractions for the ballerinas in the dance room.
Parents are free to use the church lobby during class, but please do not allow siblings to wander into other areas of the church unsupervised.
NO FOOD in the lobby, please! There is a covered patio area outside the front doors that parents and siblings are welcome to use to eat during class time.
Anything the dancers can move in is fine (typically leotards, tights, any sort of skirt or tutu is fine too; there are no restrictions on colors or styles, as long as it’s not distracting) and pink ballet shoes.
Typically at Target, Walmart, Amazon, Discount Dance Supply (including ballet shoes) or any specialty dance wear store in town.
Unfortunately, the only adults we have in the dance room during classes are the dance teachers and director if needed. We have this policy to minimize distractions for our dancers as much as possible. There are small windows on both doors for parents to watch during class.
We do allow one parent to be in the dance room for the first one or two classes to help with the transition, only if their dancer is having a hard time separating or warming up to class.
Parents will be invited in the last 5-10 minutes of Pumpkin Party for a mini-performance in October, the entire class for Watch Me Week in December, and then the last few weeks in the Spring Semester for practice shows as we prepare for Recital.
