Hi! I'm Alex. I'm a current Ph.D. student, broadly interested in the interplay between topology and geometry. In the past I've done work in hyperbolic knot theory, and am currently thinking about symplectic and contact topology. I am also passionate about about math pedagogy! You can find my CV here.

I completed my undergraduate degree at Williams College and am now in my second year of the PhD program at UC Davis, where I am advised by Roger Casals.

In my free time, I love climbing, hiking, baking (particularly bread related items like pretzels, bagels, and croissants), and playing board games.

I firmly believe in Federico Ardila's Axioms:

Axiom 1: Mathematical potential is equally present in different groups, irrespective of geographic, demographic, and economic boundaries.

Axiom 2: Everyone can have joyful, meaningful, and empowering mathematical experiences.

Axiom 3: Mathematics is a powerful, malleable tool that can be shaped and used differently by various communities to serve their needs.

Axiom 4: Every student deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
