Welcome to the Light "KARMA CITY"
Quinton Alexander McLeroy, professionally known as Alexander Starr, is a multi-talented recording artist, producer, and performer from Atlanta, Georgia — the birthplace of Southern hip hop. With deep roots in the city’s rich musical culture, Starr has built a reputation not only as a powerful voice in the booth but also as a skilled ghostwriter and mentor behind the scenes.
Starr was a member of Pimp (now known as Southern Legacy), a group affiliated with Big Bank Records in the late ’90s and early 2000s. He later signed a solo development deal under a sub-label of LaFace Records. His early mastery of mixing and mastering laid the foundation for a sound that blends raw emotion with polished production — a sound shaped in collaboration with producers like K.E. On The Track, Supa CrankIt, Relly Made, SuperStar O, Vybe Beats, and IllMuzik Beatz.
Over the years, Starr has contributed to the development of rising artists like Kwony Cash, Young Thug (YSL), Cheat (Red Kartel), Wylout (BookBag ENT), and Teigo Bay, guiding and shaping new voices in the Southern hip-hop movement.
His early appearances on mixtapes — including A Product Of My Environment (2009), Remedial Class (2011), Cocaine Nightmares: Million Dollar Dreams (2011), and From Standing On Da Block (2012) — built the foundation for his own solo series Street Madjic Vol. 1 & 2. Fan favorites like “Ball Hard,” “Gwalla,” “Cut Tha Check,” and “BOOMIN” showcased his blend of street wisdom and melodic aggression, often paired with beats from his growing circle of elite producers.
In 2021, amidst rising national tensions around police brutality and racial injustice, Starr released the searing protest track “AMERICA” with Stro Maxwell, delivering an unfiltered call for awareness and action. That same year, he dropped the healing anthem “Story of Your Life” (feat. Tuwanna Marie), and followed up with dark, conceptual pieces like KARMA CITY: Illuminati Calls – Lucifer Version, a three-track LP with Bruh James.
Currently, Starr is preparing to release his highly anticipated album, Karma City: A Poole Creek Testimony, a deeply personal narrative touching on faith, betrayal, legacy, and resilience. The lead single “Karma City Nights” (feat. Stro Maxwell) and recent tracks like “Too Much” (with RoyelYorel), “A Couple Tales,” and the remastered “Moe Money” have set the tone for what’s to come.
Despite delays tied to feature clearances, Starr has kept momentum with side projects like Tha 5Spot: Futures Past and singles like “Some Fun” and “Mesmerized” (feat. J.Loyal & Hellboi). He also launched StarJuice, a joint project with his son Juiceman3x, which was put on pause after his son’s legal issues. That chapter inspired the heartfelt track “INNOCENT” — Starr’s most personal release to date.
"We are Atlanta — both new and old. This city was built on the struggles and shortcomings of we the people. We were pushed into the city, now they want to pull us out. My music stands at the intersection of resilience and remembrance — honoring the legacy of Atlanta while fighting for its future."
