My name is Alexander Liss and I am an assistant professor at KU Leuven. My research centers around the role of intellectual capital in financial accounting and how firms use and communicate their intellectual capital to investors and competitors. I presented my research at several universities and conferences as well as to regulators such as the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) staff.
I obtained my PhD at Paderborn University. I am also an active research fellow of the collaborative research center TRR 266 "Accounting for Transparency", funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG)). I also was a visiting research scholar at the Kenan Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina and at Singapore Management University.
