I am always looking for new opportunities and challenges to expand my professional and academic experience. Below, you can find out more about some of my fields of interests as well as my current and previous industry appointments. Please reach out for collaborations or if you would like to know more.
Next to my PhD, I have been actively engaged in the private equity industry.
Specifically, I have worked for Energi30, a private equity fund management company for alternative investments, which focuses on wind and solar energy projects. Energi30 is a fund manager and co-investor in GPP II K/S, an m€ 78.8 fund sponsored by two Danish pension funds. It is also fund manager in GPP K/S, an m€123 fund, sponsored by three Danish pension funds. I was responsible for all risk management activities of both funds, GPPI and GPPII.
After having been an external consultant during my PhD, I am now a Senior Associate at Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, a private equity fund manager focusing on renewable energy projects across the globe. They currently have AUM of approximately bn€12, allocated within seven funds: CI I, CI II, CI III, CI IV, CI NMF I, CI Artemis I and CI Artemis II. I advise Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners in their risk management activities and portfolio decision-making with a special focus on the long-run assessment of economic, financial and political risk drivers.
I am further frequently disseminating my research on alternative investments in the Danish pension fund industry or also among other stakeholders as Vestas or the Danish Ministry of Energy. The field of alternative investments is my passion and I am always looking to expand my network and expertise herein.
I have worked for the private and public banking sector in previous appointments. For two years, I was an apprentice at Commerzbank, where I advised mostly private clients but also mid-cap firms and high-net-worth individuals in their decision-making processes concerning investment, saving and financing.
Furthermore, I was an intern in the department of Credit Assessment and Securities of the Deutsche Bundesbank (German Central Bank), where I was responsible for the eligibility assessment of business enterprises in the non-financial sector for central bank refinancing operations.
During the summer of 2020 I have conducted the Fund Internship Program (FIP) at the International Monetary Fund. Specifically, I worked on a research project revolving around climate-related risk and macro-financial stress-testing, in which I predominantly focused on a plethora of physical climate risk sources. The objective of the internship fitted right into the objective of my PhD dissertation, where I look at alternative and sustainable investments from various angles.
I remained engaged with the IMF as an external consultant in their statistics department until December last year. Specifically, I have taken part in the development and launch of the IMF climate change dashboard, giving its users access to a wide range of climate-related economic indicators. See below for a preview or visit the dashboard's website directly.
