Alex Weekes

I'm an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Sherbrooke.  My research is in pure mathematics, and focuses on representation theory, algebra, algebraic geometry, and mathematical physics.  You can find more information on my Research page.

I completed my PhD in 2016 at the University of Toronto, under the supervision of Joel Kamnitzer.  I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics from 2016-2019, and at the University of British Columbia from 2019-2021.  From 2021-2025, I was an Assistant Professor at the University of Saskatchewan.  I joined the University of Sherbrooke in September 2025.
