Organization:
I'm organizing the 2024 log-cabin workshop in Higher Teichmuller theory with Max Riestenberg, Suzanne Schlich and François Labourie, which will take place from August 24-29 in Aussois, FR.
In Fall 2023 and Spring 2024, I ran a reading group on Thurston's contributions to complex analysis at GA Tech. We read "Shapes of Polyhedra and Triangulation of the Sphere" (Thurston), "Zippers and Univalent Functions" (Thurston), and Rodin-Sullivan's paper on circle packings and Riemann maps.
In Summer 2020, I organized a reading group on Fock-Goncharov coordinates on the SL(3,R) Hitchin component.
Substantive professional service and outreach:
Directed reading program mentor (Fall 2023, Spring 2024)
Graduate student advisory board math department representative (2021)
First-year graduate student mentor (2021-2022, 2023-2024)
Freshman mentor (2020-2021)
Volunteer tutor at the Montrose Center (2019-2020, ended due to Covid-19 pandemic)
Volunteer teaching assistant at math explorations (2019-2020, ended due to Covid-19 pandemic)
Reading groups and expository student seminars are some of my favorite parts of graduate school. Below's a record of my involvement in these. I've indicated a few papers I read in preparation for some of these talks, which I would be very happy to chat about!
