I am an Associate Professor of Economics at Azim Premji University, Bengaluru. My work is rooted in the History of Economic Thought, with a particular focus on Classical Political Economy, Macroeconomics, and the Indian Economy.
I completed my PhD in Economics at the University of Sydney, Australia, where my thesis explored Consumption and Economic Growth in the Framework of Classical Economics. I hold an MPhil and MA in Economics from the University of Hyderabad, and a BA in Economics from Loyola College, Chennai.
I serve on the Council of the European Society for the History of Economic Thought (ESHET) and am the founding president of the Indian Society for the History of Economic Thought (ISHET). These roles allow me to engage with scholarly communities in India and abroad, contributing to conversations that continue to shape the discipline.
Alongside teaching and research, I enjoy engaging with the wider academic community through lectures, workshops, and publications. For me, these are not only chances to share ideas but also to learn, exchange perspectives, and grow through dialogue.
Visit my Undergraduate Economist Blog to read my essays and reflections though this blog is largely defunct now.
Students and scholars interested in these areas are welcome to connect for collaborations and engage with my work.
