Hi! I am a Senior Economist at the World Bank's Africa Gender Innovation Lab, where I lead the agriculture and measurement thematic areas. I am also a non-resident fellow at the Center for Global Development, an affiliate of IZA, and serve on various steering committees and technical advisory groups.
My research focuses on identifying and addressing gender-based constraints to productivity, property rights and prosperity—and improving the quality of their measurement.
Previously, I was a Research Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School's Evidence for Policy Design, Head of Research at Empower Dalit Women of Nepal and a research assistant at Innovations for Poverty Action. I also did brief stints with the International Institute for Environment and Development, Grameen Bank, Citigroup and FWDPR.
I sometimes write about interesting stuff I learn outside of economics over on my blog Read Receipts.
