Here is my small contribution to making London a place where low-dimensional topologists could find community, and young researchers the opportunity to give talks, receive feedback, and learn from more experienced scholars.
The research on pseudo-Anosov flows has registered a huge amount of progress in the last few years. The reading group was born from the need of topologists to keep up with the latest developments in the field.
You can find a draft program here.
Started in the fall of 2024, the seminar brings together topologists from all London universities to exchange their expertise and research interests. Thanks to the KCL Research Culture Fund, the participants could share their thoughts and experiences over lunch before the seminar. This cycle of events has contributed - and keeps contributing - to the creation of an effective research community in London for low-dimensional topologists and friends. (and God knows if London needs one!)
