Hello!
I am a postdoctoral researcher specialising in political philosophy/theory and legal theory.
My work centres on the normative foundations of public authority – sovereignty, legitimacy, and the public interest – with a particular focus on the climate crisis and contemporary democratic politics. I am also interested in selected themes in the history of political and legal thought. Recently, I have been expanding my interests to include methodological issues in critical theory.
I hold a PhD from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University (Faculty of Philosophy) (April 2025), with research conducted at the University of Warwick (Law School) and the London School of Economics (Department of Government).
Until September 2026, I am a postdoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory (Frankfurt); I will be a postdoctoral researcher at CEPS, University of Minho, from October 2026.
I am also a lecturer in political theory and politics for the course Politics and Global Issues at the University of Bergamo. My recent work includes an article on sovereignty forthcoming in the European Journal of Political Theory (pre-print available here) and the co-editorship of the volume Filosofia e critica dellʼAntropocene (Mimesis, 2024).

Disambiguation: I happen to share my name with a couple of outstanding scholars working in the same or related fields. If you are looking for the distinguished economist and economic historian from the University of Pisa, please visit this link.
If instead you are looking for the political and legal philosopher whose fascinating work is, at times, overlapping with mine – in areas such as popular sovereignty, populism, post-marxism and constitutional theory – please visit this link.
