I am an Assistant Professor of Finance at KU Leuven, in the Faculty of Economics and Business.
Previously, I worked as an Economist at the European Central Bank and as a Research Fellow at the University of Zurich. At the ECB, I contributed to the design, the analysis and the implementation of monetary policy, as well as to the analysis of financial stability risks and the design of macroprudential policy. At the University of Zurich, I developed research in the context of an ERC Advanced Grant on "Bank Lending".
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Warwick, as well as a MSc in Economics from Pompeu Fabra University and a MRes in Economic Analysis and Policy from Paris School of Economics.
In my experience, I have combined academic research, university teaching, policy advice and design. I have developed research in or in collaboration with central banks (ECB, Bank of England and Banca d’Italia), macroprudential bodies (ESRB) and international institutions (IMF).
My research interests are in financial intermediation, monetary policy, macroprudential policy, financial regulation and stability, sustainable finance, capital markets.
