Alejandro Perez is focused on studying the inter-brain coupling that takes place in verbal communication. How and when the rhythms of brainwaves of different people match each other during a verbal interaction is a key factor in understanding conversational language use.
Alejandro is a Research Fellow at the MRC Cognition and Brain Science Unit in the Hearing, Speech and Language Group. His current Maria Skłodowska-Curie project in collaboration with Matt Lambon-Ralph address the role of the shared semantics in the brain-to-brain entrainment.
