Community through my eyes:
To be part of a community is to help each other, become better people, and learn to share moments together.

One value that is central to me especially within the people I interact with when climbing, is Community. As our coach and mentor told us when we were just starting out in the climbing world, "Without friends that help and motivate you along the way, getting better as a climber will always be much more challenging" (Aziz Ftis, 2021). As we engage in the physical and mental challenges of climbing, we rely on each other for support, safety, and encouragement. Whether it's spotting each other during difficult routes or sharing tips to improve technique, there's a shared sense of purpose and belonging. This community aspect becomes clear when we gather at the base of the wall, exchanging stories, offering guidance, and celebrating each other's accomplishments. This value of community brings us together, fostering teamwork and mutual growth. It impacts not just how we climb but how we approach challenges, emphasizing collaboration over competition. It's more than just climbing; it's about building trust and forming deep connections with people who share the same passion.
